Production Partner Integration for a Revenue Platform
A production Seismic integration that let customers connect an existing account and bring partner data into a sales-performance platform without re-entering it.
Professional case studyProblem
Ambition's customers wanted their existing Seismic data inside Ambition's metrics engine without duplicating setup. The work also supported a company-level OKR to establish a strategic partnership with Seismic, so it had to be production-grade rather than a prototype.
Action
Working in a four-engineer Scrum squad, I delivered the integration end to end: modelled and built the backend with Django and Django REST Framework, implemented the customer-facing setup flow in React, and covered the completed workflows with Cypress end-to-end tests. Synchronization ran on demand during account setup or through a user-initiated action, with data available within seconds. I also documented the data models and unfamiliar platform areas and joined product discovery rather than working only from tickets.
Outcome
Released the Seismic integration to production in direct response to customer demand and supported the company-level partnership OKR, delivered as a complete increment spanning backend, frontend setup flow, documentation, and automated test coverage.
Engineering takeaways
Reusable patterns from the work.
These notes focus on the judgment, tradeoffs, and working patterns behind the result.
- Owned a customer-facing integration across backend, frontend, and tests rather than a single layer.
- Designed on-demand synchronization so partner data stayed current without duplicate setup.
- Treated documentation and product discovery as part of delivering a durable increment.
